Virginia Was Given Her Late Aunt’s Name.

Virginia Springsteen was the sister of Douglas Frederick Springsteen, the father of Bruce Springsteen. Sadly, she tragically perished in a car accident in 1927. Virginia was killed riding her tricycle on Freehold Street at the age of five by a truck that was backing out of a gas station on Freehold Street. Virginia Springsteen, Bruce Springsteen’s sister, was his parents’ first child. She was given her name in honor of her late aunt by his parents and grandparents.


Virginia Springsteen is the middle child. Pamela Springsteen, her younger sister, was born on 8 February 1962 and is a well-known photographer. Bruce Springsteen, her older brother, was born on 23 September 1949. Springsteen was raised by her parents and both of her siblings in a relatively tranquil environment in Long Branch, New Jersey, making it a very memorable childhood for her. Douglas Frederick Springsteen, the father of Virginia Springsteen, worked as a bus driver. He served in the Army prior to this and even participated in World War II. Douglas operated the bus to San Francisco Airport. He also performed duties at Freehold’s St. Rose of Lima Roman Catholic Church. He was married to Adele Ann Springsteen, Virginia’s mother.

Private Life

At the age of 17, Virginia Springsteen Shave, a senior in high school, become pregnant. Before she was six months along, none of the Springsteen family members knew she was expecting. Virginia stopped attending school as a result, and her parents gave her home tutoring. Later, Virginia wed Michael “Mickey” Shave, the father of her child and her boyfriend.

At the time, Michael Shave, the spouse of Virginia Springsteen Shave, was a terrific man from Lakewood who was nineteen years old, cocky, leather-jacketed, and fighting. In the late 1960s, he competed in rodeo events all the way from Texas to New Jersey as a professional rider.

Virginia Springsteen, Bruce Springsteen’s sister, married, moved to Lakewood in the south, and they had a kid. Like her parents, she began leading a working-class existence.
