Chalino Sanchez Felix was a Mexican singer-songwriter, born on “Las Flechas”, a small estate in Sinaloa. He had six siblings and he was the youngest of them. He struggled a lot in his life. He belonged to a poor family. He always dreamt of becoming a singer. His real name was Rosalino, but he liked to be known as Chalino.
In 1977, he shot a man at a party who is no one but his sister’s rapist then he left for Tijuana. He used to take illegal immigrants into the United States, he himself crossed the border as an undocumented illegal worker, the same year. After doing all kinds of odd jobs he finally got the chance to make her dream of becoming a singer come true. He for the first time sang his songs to a studio named San Angel Records, owned by Angel Mariscal. He recorded his first cassette of 15 songs in 1989.
On 25 January 1992, Chalino was performing at the Plaza Los Arcos restaurant and nightclub in Coachella, when a local unemployed mechanic Eduardo Gallegos, 32, came as an audience and started firing at Chalino. They both opened fire at each other but both of them survived. After four months of the incident, Chalino was ultimately killed by some men disguised as policemen on 15 May 1992.
