Rosanne Cash is the eldest daughter of singer Johnny Cash and his first wife, Vivian Liberto Cash, a homemaker and author. She was born in 1955 in Memphis, Tennessee. Her family moved to California in 1958, where Cash and her siblings got raised by their mother. Her parents separated in the early 60s and divorced in 1966. Rivers graduated from St. Bonaventure High School and joined her father’s roadshow for two and a half years, working as a wardrobe assistant and then as a background vocalist and soloist. Her first professionally recorded work was in 1976 when Johnny Cash recorded Rosanne’s composition Love Has Lost Again.
Rosanne released her debut album recorded in 1978. The album didn’t please Cash, but it attracted the attention of Columbia Records, which offered her a recording contract. In 1980, she released the album Right or Wrong, which had three Top 25 singles. She married Rodney Crowell in 1979 and moved to Nashville in 1981.
Her 1981 second album was a hit, and its title hit, Seven Year Ache, was a No. 1 hit on Billboard Country Chart and No. 22 on Billboard Pop Chart. Her other albums were Somewhere in the Stars in 1982, Rhythm & Romance in 1985, and King’s Record Shop in 1987. She continues to write and produce music in Chelsea, where she lives with her second husband, John Leventhal.

Born on 7 August 1950, Rodney Crowell is primarily known for his work as a singer and songwriter in country music. He has written and produced songs for other artists. His best album got released in 1988. Diamonds & Dirt had five of its songs, being No. 1 on Hot Country Songs. His other albums include Ain’t Living Long Like This, But What Will the Neighbors Think, Rodney Crowell, Let the Picture Paint Itself, and Jewels of the South.
Rodney supported his wife Rosanne’s musical career and still works with her to write songs years after their divorce. He married Claudia Church in 1998, and they live in Nashville.
